Fat Is NOT Your Fault (It’s No One’s ‘Fault’!)

There’s nothing wrong with YOU…

Just because you gained some of the weight back, it doesn’t make you a failure.

Just because you resigned from your last diet or workout plan, it doesn’t make you a quitter.

Just because you lost the ‘battle’ between yourself and that tub of ice cream or 3rd piece of pizza, it doesn’t mean you have no willpower.

Just because you aren’t gung-ho about starting over again on Monday, it doesn’t mean you’re not motivated or “don’t want it badly enough”.

And just because you “know what to do but can’t get yourself to do it”, it doesn’t make you a self-sabotager.

Nope not even close.

I used to think the same thing about myself.

Truth is (and this was REALLY hard to admit when I first discovered it), I used to say some of the same things about my clients. Yes I know. Not my finest hour.

But if all I knew and all I taught them was how to get results inside of a 30 or 60 day weight loss ‘bubble’, how would they know how to keep those results outside of it?

If I taught them the in’s and out’s of of food and fitness, how would they know how to handle it when they STOPPED eating what I told them to eat or when the STOPPED showing up for their workouts?

If I motivated them or taught them how to keep motivating themselves, how would they know what to do when they eventually stopped believing the promises they would make to themselves?

And if I gave them a ton of information, how would it ever truly be an education if I didn’t teach them about implementation?

Great questions (if I do say so myself)… and ones that need answers if you really want permanent transformation.

Just think about it…

How would you know how to speak Spanish if you’ve been studying and practicing French your whole life?

How could a ‘healthy lifestyle’ ever stick permanently if instead of practicing easier and easier…you’ve been practicing harder and harder?

How would you know how to motivate yourself if you’ve only been practicing getting it from someone or something else outside yourself?

And how will losing weight ever be your ‘top priority if you wanted it badly enough’ when in reality, that will NEVER happen? (and why would you want some diet or weight loss magic bullet to come above your life, your relationships, your children, your happiness?)

What I’m saying is this:

If you’re giving yourself sh*t for all the diets you “messed up” on or all the plans and programs that you deemed yourself a failure because of, give yourself a break!

It’s not your fault!

You’ve been studying and practicing weight loss for ages now (perhaps even your whole life)…but in the ways that we ALL learned how to do it…

…by practicing being a slave to a diet, a slave to your workouts, and a slave to (what I call) your fat head.

And it’s all at the cost of your freedom!

Freedom from food.
Freedom from your body.
Freedom from your life!

This is no way to live.

Food, your body, and your life are way too much fun to live it like that.

So I say stop practicing the ‘language’ that you don’t even have the desire to speak anymore…and learn a new one.

Don’t you think it’s time?
